March 14th, 2016 marks a milestone in the successful trajectory of Rany Management, LLC. Nicholas Yassan, principle of Rany Management, has announced the purchase of 19 S. Wabash, the oldest surviving building designed by Adler & Sullivan. Built in 1882 the five-story “Jewelers Building” (also known as the Iwan Ries Building) is both a city landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
This richly ornamented structure is located within a part of Chicago that keeps much of the aesthetics of days past. This building’s facade departs dramatically from other buildings of its type. The open exterior, using cast iron mullions rather than masonry piers in the central bay, and Sullivan's stylized floral ornament provide significant distinction from the surrounding structures.
“We’re excited for opportunity to expand into the loop, beginning with ownership of real estate with such a rich history. We are proud to make our mark here and begin restoring this building to its former prestige” says Yassan.
